Description:

Boston Anchor's BA-1, Safety Fall Arrest Roof Anchor, is the "Industry Standard" for all fall arrest roof systems manufactured today. The BA-1 consists of an 8"x 8" x 5/8" steel base plate with four holes to accept any number of installation procedures, i.e.:

 
 

bolt around a structural beam, mounted to an open web joist with the use of an HSS kicker, or secured to a concrete deck with HiltiŽ Adhesive Bolts. The BA-1 standard height is 12". The anchor body is 4" i.d. and 4 1/2" o.d. made of HSS 10-18 steel, fillet welded to the base plate. The top disk, sut from 4" cold rolled round at a thickness of no less than 3/8" is fillet welded to the top of the anchor body. The 3/4" U-Bar, which can be either stainless steel or hot dipped galvanized, is fitted to the top disk sitting in two 13/16" holes then fillet welded on top and plug welded on bottom to become one unit - tested in excess of 50,000 lbs. The BA-1 may be of various heights although 12" is standard.

 
 

 

Recommended Use:

Boston Anchor's roof anchors are suitable for securing workers lifelines or the tying back of suspended access equipment such as outrigger beams and parapet wall clamps; also suitable for suspension of Rope Descent Systems (RDS).
 

 

Applicable Standards:

Boston Anchor's roof anchors conform to all US standards, state labor/safety codes, ASME, ANSI, IWCA, OSHA, CAL OSHA, AISC, AWS, and all other materials standards relating to anchor fabrication for use in window cleaning and other suspended maintenance operations.
 

 

Warranty:

20 year warranty against leaks, condensation and defects in materials and /or manufacture when installed by Boston Anchor or Boston Anchor approved affiliates. Warranty is also in effect when anchors are installed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and tested by a locally state approved professional engineer (PE).
 

 

Maintenance:

Boston Anchor's Safety Fall Arrest Roof Anchors are generally maintenance free. However, OSHA and ANSI standards require anchors to be inspected annually by a "qualified" person with inspection data recorded in the Safety Fall Arrest Systems Log Book. The standards also require that every ten years anchors be tested by a locally state approved professional engineer (PE).

 

Design / Planning Services:
